Marvel Comics and Disney have joined forces (so to speak) with Child Life Council, a nonprofit
organization of professionals who help children overcome trauma, to create a
new Guardians of the
Galaxy comic book that will be distributed to children’s hospitals
across the country.
According
to Marvel Editor and Custom Solutions Project Manager Mark Basso, as quoted in
the article, “This year’s comic is all about friendship, camaraderie, and
relying on other when you need help…There is nothing shameful about needing
help from friends, family, or professional caregivers, and we wanted to
underscore that them in the story.”
