In October, the
Insurance Corporation of British Colombia released a list of the top excuses from local motorists caught using hand held cell phones while driving. Topping the list: “This is a bogus law.” The number two excuse: “It was my boss on the phone. I had to answer it.” The local police department, which initiated a month-long crackdown on distracted driving, helped the insurer compile the list. The police issued an estimated 3,500 during the month of September.
