Connecticut ranks 45th among the states in funding programs to prevent children from smoking and in helping smokers quit, according to a
national report recently released by a coalition of public health organizations. Connecticut currently spends $400,000 a year on tobacco prevention and cessation programs, substantially less than that recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
