Leaf Peepers Rejoice!

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) recently released their annual Fall Foliage Report for this autumn season. Though the foliage season begins in mid-to-late September, DEEP estimates that peak color will occur between October 5 and November 13. Using the department’s interactive Foliage Report map, state residents and visitors can (1) see when different regions of the state will hit peak color and (2) browse scenic hiking locations and foliage driving routes. DEEP also offers “leaf peeping” tips, including a list of scenic destinations for prime fall foliage viewing.
