The Office of Legislative Research has written more than 300 Bill Analyses
(and is writing more all the time), which are available to help you understand
bills. OLR Bill Analyses are plain language summaries of all bills reported to
the House or Senate
(except for
Appropriations bills, which are summarized by the
Office of Fiscal Analysis
(OFA)).
You can find a Bill Analysis on a bill's
status
page or you can browse the entire collection of Bill Analyses at once on
OLR's site, which is
sortable by both bill number and committee.
