The Department of Environmental Protection’s
No Child Left Inside® program began in 2006 as a way to help children connect with nature, inform the public about state park and forests’ recreational opportunities, and encourage environmental conservation. As part of the program, the department recently launched its
2011 Great Park Pursuit Outdoor Recreational Challenge. This challenge is a year-round family activity encouraging outdoor recreation at Connecticut’s state parks and forests. Related to the challenge, the department is also hosting themed
Family Days around the state to promote specific outdoor recreational activities.
